Look Good, Feel Fantastic
For the past 24 years my background has been in Beauty Therapy and Skin Care. It is only in the last few years that I have realised the true essence of how to Look Good and this is also the key to Feeling Fantastic.

To look good on the outside it’s important to be healthy on the inside, try these suggestions for a week and judge the results for yourself: Our planet and our bodies are made up of over 70% water so it makes common sense to eat a balanced diet made up of 70% water rich foods. Drinking at least eight glasses of filtered water a day also helps the body to survive and thrive.

Oxygen is essential for healthy cells. Most of the lung’s blood vessels are concentrated at the base of the lungs so it is essential to breathe deeply to ensure oxygen gets into the bloodstream. Deep breathing encourages increased lymphatic action which is vital for vibrant health. Try inhaling for the count of four, hold for the count of sixteen and exhale for the count of eight. Do this three times, several times a day, and begin to increase the ratio. Just watch your health improve.

Blending nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables to make an Energy Elixir every morning is the quickest way to get nutrients into your cells. Nutrients blended this way are easily assimilated in the mouth, travelling to every organ in the body literally in seconds. It’s like liquid gold. Elixirs are also naturally alkalising and detoxifying on the body.

Eat a balanced diet; get as much variety as possible and eat as many different natural colours of food as you can. Eat live foods as they are filled with nutrients, enzymes and vitamins. Raw or sprouted foods are invaluable for optimum health. Eliminate everything from your diet that your body cannot process or assimilate, otherwise the body has to use up valuable energy to get rid of it, or sometimes the body will store the toxin in fat cells producing cellulite. Cut out sugar, salt, vinegar and all acid forming food; avoid frozen, canned or devitalised foods. For me eliminating tea and coffee; sugar and most of all dairy and animal produce has contributed to the biggest changes in my health. I have lost the taste for milk and did not replace it with anything else ~ cows don’t drink cows’ milk, why should we?! Humans are the only mammals on the planet who continue to drink milk after weaning! If you are a smoker take definite steps to give up smoking. Tobacco contributes to an acid environment in the body producing ill health.

Basic weight training has been proven to reverse, (not slow or stop); but reverse all the “milestone” signs of aging i.e. changes in bone density, body’s temperature regulations, basal metabolic rate, muscle strength, fat content and blood pressure. Even while out walking carry two stones, water bottles or other weights and do some arm exercises to help maximise upper body strength.

Do whatever you can to boost your immune system. Most of the bugs that cause disease are already in our bodies and our immune system keeps them in check. Getting into a happy state of mind really boosts the immune system. Remember a time when you were really happy, what did it feel like? Where did you feel it in your body? Imagine it and begin to feel happy, this will do wonders for your body and how you feel.

Have an attitude of gratitude. Give thanks for all the abundance in your life right now. Thank God for the gift of another day. Remember to laugh! There is no doubt- laughter is definitely the best medicine. Show and feel love as often as you can. Sing! Just sing and it will do wonders for your good humour and the people around you! Someone said “I don’t sing because I’m happy, I’m happy because I sing”.

Be honest with yourself. It is a wonderful feeling to only speak your truth. Be honest with others too and always speak the truth with love. Rolling Thunder, an American Indian medicine man said “We don’t have to eat everything we see and we don’t have to say everything we think. So we begin by watching our words and speaking with good purpose only”

Pay attention to TV! Transformational Vocabulary! Change the words you use to bring about a better state of mind. Instead of saying “I’m nervous” change it to “I’m excited”. Change “I should” to “I’m going to” or “I get to” and so on.

Support your body! Massage is an excellent way to promote relaxation and good health. Any touch on the skin produces growth hormone to improve healing. Deepak Chopra recommends a daily five-minute massage with sesame seed oil to promote health, well-being and recovery for everyone including patients with heart complaints to speeds up healing.

“The only way I will ever be great to myself is not what I do to my body, but what I do to my mind” - Ramtha

Our minds are like a garden-we need to pay attention to the seeds we sow and weed out negative thoughts. Thoughts are things! It is medically and scientifically proven that your immune cells monitor and react to your internal dialogue. For example when you think negatively of another person, which one of you does it affect the most? Which one of you will develop dis-ease? If you were to wish them loving thoughts or forgiveness instead, do you think YOUR life would improve???

Give yourself the gift of silence. Sit quietly and listen to divine guidance. Sit very still, allow all thoughts to pass like a cloud and don’t give them any importance e.g. there’s a fear thought, there’s a funny thought. Try it and watch for changes in your life.

Clear the clutter, clutter leads to a cluttered mind and life. Invite someone to your home and office that can do feng shui and see the difference.

Please don’t wait for a reason to feel good, just feel good because it feels good! Sometimes we have lots of rules around our emotions. Lots of things have to happen for us to feel a certain way and many of them are out of our control. For example some people have to have “gorgeous weather”, “everything going their way”, “lots of money in the bank” or be a “certain weight” in order to be happy. Someone else’s rules for feeling relaxed could be; “I can only feel relaxed if I have an unexpected day off” ~ If these rules were “relaxed” so that “I feel relaxed every time I drop my shoulders and take a deep breath” or “I feel happy every time I see a flower” or “I feel happy every time I think of a magic moment” it becomes easier to feel happy and relaxed. Make a list of all the things that make you feel good. Find things to smile about today and you will not only Feel Fantastic you will Look Fantastic too!
